From Wilderness to Waltham St Lawrence, headlining the Party in the Parish is The Fontanas. With BBC 1 Xtra and BBC 6 Music loving the band’s latest album, be blown away by their soulful, funky Brazilian and afro Latin beats. The perfect start to the summer, The Fontanas will be turning up the heat and bringing their feel-good festival vibes to the village.
In support, is the sensational Space At The Table, who will be bringing the concept of the Brazilian Samba de Roda (round table). Playing vibey Brazilian music while sitting around in the middle of the crowd, rather than on a stage, the collective creates an atmosphere that’s all about conviviality, good vibes, accessibility and joining in. They don’t play to the crowd but with the crowd. This is not music to be watched, it’s music to be felt, danced to, sung along with and experienced. Festival go-ers will be invited to pick up, join in and play, there’s always space at the table.
Finally DJ Moishe will be on the decks turning up the funk. DJ Moishe hails from the mountains of South Brazil where he developed a diverse spectrum of musical influences ranging from Afro Funk Latin Brazilian Beats to Nu Jazz, House and Broken Beats. This superstar DJ has been a regular fixture on the London scene for many years and has even been known to the screen, performing on Brazilian MTV.
